Jason Burris is pursuing Christian CEOs, business owners of large businesses and organizations, and heads of non-profits. His personal experience in helping leaders over the past 15 years will bring value to experienced
Growing up in Denver, Colorado, in a family of athletes, sports were integral to my life. Early athletic success not only boosted my confidence but also opened doors, including a college education.
Through sports, I learned the value of hard work and its rewards. However, I also encountered a profound sense of emptiness, realizing that there was more to life than athletic achievements. This internal conflict led me to understand a well-known tension: the pursuit of success doesn't always equate to fulfillment. Guided by a mentor and supported by a close-group of peers, I discovered what it meant to "win" beyond the game.
This revelation transformed my life and the way I would live moving forward. For the past two decades, I've served as an Ultimate Training Camp Team Executive, the Co-National Director of Stewardship for Athletes In Action, The Drummer and Band Director for nationally known Run51, and I've served as a chaplain for elite athletes at the University of Miami and the NBA's Miami Heat, as well as Leadership Coach high-level business leaders. In all of these audiences, I have seen leaders grapple with the same life altering question: "Is there more to life than the relentless pursuit of being the best?"
How do I find real purpose? What in life really brings satisfaction? My passion for guiding leaders on this journey has only deepened over time. At an event, I reconnected with my friend Stephan Tchividjian, Co-Founder and President of the National Christian Foundation South Florida. After catching up, he introduced me to Convene, suggesting it as a valuable space for the leaders I was mentoring. Embracing this opportunity, I've learned that Convene, connects leaders and provides a community like the one that profoundly impacted me in college.
Reflecting on my journey, I see how my early experiences with sports, mentorship, and faith have culminated in a calling to serve others. As a Convene coach, I am dedicated to helping Christian business leaders not only find purpose beyond their personal achievements but also excel in their professional leadership roles and achieve success in their businesses.
I have been married to my wife Jenise for 19 years. We have two children. Zoe a Junior at Ransom Everglades and Eli, an 8th grader at Belen Jesuit.
Why Convene?
I'm excited to work with Convene Christian business leaders thrive when they are part of a community that provides wisdom, counsel, and accountability for life's challenges and business opportunities. Leaders grow best when they don't lead alone. I believe Christian business leaders have a high calling— a responsibility to steward their platform for both commercial success and Kingdom impact. There should be no divide between the sacred and the secular; excellence in the marketplace matters because it reflects God's presence and opens doors to share His truth. As Colossians 3:23 reminds us, what we do matters -but ultimately, it's all for God's glory, not our own.
Vision for the Convene Team - Miami
My vision is to build a dynamic Convene team in Miami—a community of driven, grateful leaders who are committed to winning in both business and at home. This group will bring together C-suite executives, business owners, and non- profit leaders from large to medium-sized organizations who believe that success is measured not just by profits but by purpose. Together, we will pursue excellence, provide wise counsel, and hold each other accountable as we grow thriving businesses that make a Kingdom impact-all while leading with integrity, gratitude, and balance in every area of life.
Chair Philosophy
Jason Burris will invest in, equip, and encourage Christian leaders who are driven to scale their businesses, organizations, and teams, are not satisfied with the status quo, believe in servant leadership, and thrive on executing with excellence; "change-makers" with significant platforms that can be advanced in meaningful ways for both commercial and Kingdom purposes.
