With a father and a grandfather who were nationally known leaders in their field, Ron was born into a leadership environment. After graduating from Midwestern School he launched his leadership career by assuming the Lead Pastor role in a church in the inner city of Portland, Oregon. While leading fast-growing community impacting churches in Oregon, Hawaii, and northern California over a span of 54 years, he also functioned as a community leader chairing committees with the Chamber of Commerce, taking leadership roles in a wide variety of community projects, founding the Chaplain Department in both the Petaluma Police and Fire Departments, and supervising the formation and administration of two different evacuation shelters that housed, fed, gave medical treatment to, and resourced more than 500 people at a time during the fire catastrophes that hit northern California.

Along the way he led numbers of CEOs to become followers of Jesus, many of whom remain his close friends today. As their trusted friend and advisor, he often functions as their informal coach, confidant, and consultant. Ron is passionate about leadership, leadership development, and healthy leadership. He has strong leadership and people skills and has extensive experience in collaborative leadership, an understanding of how people work and how to effectively work with them, and people development.

As a Convene Team Chair, Ron continues his partnership with business leaders in the context of biblical principles. He is highly motivated to see them, the companies they lead, and their employees and clients thrive. What gets him out of bed each morning is working together with them to make a difference in this world.

Outside of his professional life, Ron has been married to his highschool sweetheart Monica for more than 5 decades. Together, they have 3 children, Anthony, Lisa, and Angela. All 3 are well known leaders in their fields – one in commercial real estate and banking, another is the principal of a large public school, and the third is a leader in a Canadian Refugee Organization. His hobbies include golf, woodworking, scenic photography, and smoking delicious meats.
