Jeff’s diverse background as a business owner, executive advisor, communications professional and LifePlan facilitator make him uniquely gifted to connect, equip and inspire his Convene members. His passion is to guide business leaders to operate as pastors of their families, companies, and communities.
Jeff has served as a trusted advisor and counselor to Fortune 500 executives for more than two decades. As a certified LifePlan facilitator, he also is passionate about guiding Christian men to discover their God-given purpose. Jeff is a highly decorated Naval Reserve officer. Most important, he is a devoted Christ follower, husband to Helena and father to Claire, and a Green Bay Packers fan.
As a communications professional, Jeff has been an architect of comprehensive communication plans to drive thought leadership for major organizational change (mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructuring, culture). Jeff can make sense of complex, multi-billion dollar transactions and communicate with impact to diverse audiences (shareholders, customers, employees, partners, suppliers). He is known for operating with authenticity, integrity and unwavering ethics.
Jeff is the owner of Legacy Nation LLC, an independent communications practice specializing in internal communications, crisis communications, media relations, content development and speechwriting. Clients include Baxter, GE, Motorola Solutions, Pampered Chef and Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Prior to Legacy Nation, he was director of employee communications for Motorola Solutions, a $7.3 billion publicly traded company that creates mission-critical communications solutions that help public safety and commercial customers build safer cities and thriving communities.
In his free time, Jeff is a certified life plan facilitator with the Paterson Center, based in Boulder, Colorado. A LifePlan is a personal, strategic operating plan intended to put men on a path to discovering and fulfilling their God-given purpose. The two-day, facilitated experience helps men discover their unique design, talents, and heart and then aligns them to the opportunities where they can best make their unique contribution.
Jeff has served on the Board of Directors of The Crucible Project, a global not-for-profit organization committed to creating a world of men who live with integrity, grace, and courage while fulfilling their God-given purpose. He also has served as an elder at his local church. Jeff and his family are engaged members of Willow Creek Community Church’s Huntley campus, where he and his wife lead a marriage course, he teaches a life plan workshop and also serves on an advisory board to the lead pastor.
Jeff graduated from Eastern Illinois University with bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science. He also obtained a Master of Communications degree from DePaul University in Chicago.
